Drawing with Ink Pens

This workshop will have you drawing all the different textures and strokes of a bird with ink pens. With simple exercises, you will gain a stronger confidence when applying these ink pen techniques to any drawing. We will also look at light and shadow studies with a multitude of lines. Our goal is for you to walk away with new tips and one or more finished pieces and lots of beautiful studies.

My personal style is a contemporary approach to line study and gesture - it’s what comes naturally to me, but I encourage my students to experiment and work in developing their own style.

OUTLINE and WHAT YOU NEED:

Ink Pens (micron or multi-liner), Graphite pencil, Drawing paper Canson 11x14inches, Ruler, Eraser, color pencils.

Optional supplies: thin sketch paper such as bond paper for initial drawings, masking tape, ruler, charcoal.
