Masters Series - Seurat

This workshop is all about Seurat and his beautiful technique of Pointillism. You’ll learn a little about his artistic influences, style and techniques. We will look at some samples of his most notable works and take inspiration from them to produce a work of our own. Our mediums will be: pencil and watercolor. Our goal is for you to walk away with a beautiful finished piece and lots of ideas for you to use in future work.

My personal style is a contemporary approach to line study and gesture - it’s what comes naturally to me, but I encourage my students to experiment and work in developing their own style.

OUTLINE and WHAT YOU NEED:

- Graphite pencils ( 2H, HB, 2B, 4B), Watercolor or mixed media paper ( 9x12 or 11x14)

- Watercolors (I recommend a limited palette of 7 colors: lemon yellow, new gamboge, Alizarin crimson, Pyrrol red, Ultramarine blue, Cobalt blue and Burnt umber) a basic pan set of 12 most likely includes the colors you will need.

Optional supplies: thin sketch paper such as bond paper for studies and notes, masking tape, ruler, tombow monozero 2.3 eraser, color pencils, Prospek proportional divider.

Every Session is recorded and posted to a private viewing room for you to revisit and watch as many times as needed.
