Drawing Light Workshop

This workshop will! be a treasure of secrets and tips to draw light and shadow more accurately. We will look at value scales, effects of light on a subject and several drawing techniques to develop confidence when adding volume to your forms. Lots of light and shadow studies that can be taken further and as deep as you are ready to. Our goal is for you to walk away with new tips and several finished pieces plus lots of beautiful studies.

My personal style is a contemporary approach to line study and gesture - it’s what comes naturally to me, but I encourage my students to experiment and work in developing their own style.

OUTLINE and WHAT YOU NEED:

Pencil set, 9x12 Drawing Pad or Bristol paper pad, kneaded eraser, pencil sharper, small round synthetic brush, paper blender, Charcoal stick or charcoal pencil, charcoal paper, ink pens, ink paper, watercolors and/or color pencils.

Optional supplies: thin sketch paper such as bond paper for initial drawings, masking tape, charcoal, pens, color pencils.
